6th Swiss Global Change Day




The Swiss Global Change Day is an event where the whole global change community can meet and discuss ongoing problems in a transdisciplinary manner.


The Swiss Global Change Day aims to present recent highlights in global environmental change research as well as to point out challenges for future research. Besides there is the opportunity for people from governmental institutions, economy and politics to ask questions and explain their needs and views on the presented topics. Discussions with “provocators” will provide the corresponding frame.

Biodiversity and Global Change
In the context of global change biodiversity is an important issue. Thus, the Swiss comittee of DIVERSITAS represented by the Swiss Biodiversity Forum funds the Travel Award of CHF 1000.- for the best poster presentation of research projects in the field of biodiversity and Global Change.

Poster Session and Travel Award
The poster session is an opportunity to find out about current Swiss research activities. The best two posters in each of the fields of WCRP, IGBP, IHDP and Diversitas respectively will be selected by a jury. The authors (students or post-docs) of these posters will receive a travel award of 1000.- SFr. each, which will allow them to attend an international conference in the current year.
