IPBES Pan-European stakeholder meeting (PESC-2), 22 & 23 September, Basel




The Second IPBES Pan-European stakeholder meeting (PESC-2) is taking place on 22 & 23 September 2014 at the Museum of Natural History & Museum of Cultures, in Basel, Switzerland.

The meeting builds on the first IPBES Pan-European Stakeholder Consultation, which was successfully held in Leipzig in July 2013. A broad engagement of scientific experts, local knowledge holders, policy makers and NGOs will be crucial in making IPBES a success!

The meeting aims to inform on the IPBES process and how to participate in the current work programme (day 1) and to give input and mobilize experts for the forthcoming IPBES Regional assessment of Europe and Central Asia (day 1 & 2).

You can either register for the first day only (Monday, 22nd September, 9:30-17:30) to inform yourself on the current IPBES activities and how to get involved, or you can attend the full 2-day meeting (Pan-European Stakeholder meeting, till Tuesday 23nd September 15:00).

The meeting is organised by the Swiss Biodiversity Forum with the support of the Swiss Federal Office for the Environment (FOEN), and in collaboration with other European IPBES Platforms from Germany, France, Belgium, UK and Portugal.
