NC SCOSTEP: National Committee of the Scientific Committee on Solar Terrestrial Physics
With the launch of ESA’s Solar Orbiter, the Swiss SCOSTEP community is continuing to grow and the National SCOSTEP Committee is dedicated to serving this community by connecting scientists from different institutes and communicating their findings to the public. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the originally planned fourth workshop and associated public talk on Solar Orbiter first results could not be held. Instead, an online scientific workshop was organized. It was well received and attended by Swiss and also a few international scientists.
The fourth national SCOSTEP workshop was held online on October 29/30 2020. It was attended by 30 researchers with backgrounds ranging from fundamental solar physics, solar variability and its effects on Earth, to new measurement techniques and future satellite missions. Despite the online format, the workshop was very successful and productive.
